There are a variety of great farms with fun, family-friendly activities for you to visit around Dane County this fall, and Enchanted Valley Acres is always one of the most popular choices for local families. Located in Cross Plains, this local favorite has tons of fun outdoor activities for all ages, including pumpkin and flower picking, plenty of delicious food made fresh on the farm, and a huge corn maze that features creative designs. There are tons of activities for kids, including two giant slides. Enchanted Valley Acres will be open for fall activities every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through October 27, 2024. - Peep the Leaves at the Arboretum – 1207 Seminole Hwy., Madison, WI 53711
Looking for a convenient way to see Madison's beautiful fall foliage? A visit to the University of Wisconsin-Madison Arboretum is the perfect way to spend a day. With 1,200 acres of gardens, prairies and several forest types, you'll find plenty of fantastic fall foliage photo ops while you're soaking in the stunning scenery. The Arboretum also offers monthly naturalist-led nature walks, where you can learn even more about the landscape. While watching a Badgers game from the comfort of your couch is always a great option on a fall Saturday, there's nothing quite like the experience of getting out to Camp Randall Stadium and experiencing a game with 80,000 or so of your closest friends. There are home games against Penn State (October 26), Oregon (November 16), and Minnesota (November 29) this fall, with tickets available online. - Saturdays on the Square at Dane County Farmers' Market – Capitol Square, Madison, WI 53701
Did you know that Madison is home to the largest producer-only farmers market in the country? You'll find more than 150 local vendors offering fresh, delicious products at the Dane County Farmers' Market. You can find anything from fresh produce to prepared foods, flowers, and locally-produced honey, to cheese and meats. While you're shopping, you'll be entertained by street musicians, magicians, and more. The market is open every Saturday through November 9, so be sure to stop by for some fall outdoor shopping before the season is over.
